Oct 2nd at 5 pm: Aradia Ritual with Damian Han
Join us for a ritual in tandem with our Gospel of Arcadia book group! Artist and pagan practitioner, Damian Han of Solis Illuminatum will be leading a participatory group ritual in honor of Aradia.
This ritual will place outdoors in Humboldt Park at Patchwork Farms (2825 W Chicago Ave, Chicago, IL 60622). Masks are required.
This workshop also includes 3 beeswax taper pillars made by Damian dedicated to Aradia, Diana, and Lucifer.
In Damian's words:
In honor of Aradia, patroness to the disaffected and disenfranchised, we will hold ritual work towards dismantling forces of tyranny and lift the spirits of community power. Participants may engage to whatever physical, emotional, spiritual level they feel comfortable with. Those who consider themselves beginners in sorcery and craft are welcome. Due to the nature of the event late-comers will not be allowed to participate. The farm will be open long before start time, we ask everyone to plan accordingly.
We will start by setting community intentions, designating safe space and protocol during and after ritual, and building an altar. If you have altar pieces or tools you would like to bring to the event feel free, however please understand we will be working outdoors in an uneven surface partly during sundown, delicate altar pieces or difficult to decipher tools may be ill-advised. Please use your discretion. Post ritual we will have a designated moment to decompress, eat (within social distanced space), and socialize. Due to ongoing COVID precautions, though we will have water and some pre-packaged snacks on hand, we will not be using a potluck format as is common in Pagan/Witchcraft gatherings and ask everyone / group bring their own dinners for post ritual.
It is not necessary to have attended the Gospel of Aradia book discussion, but it is recommended.
