DESCRIPTION
Set is a complex God, associated with everything considered frightening to the Kemetic people including chaos, storms, and foreigners. But his great strength (of both mental fortitude and arms) and intense individualism made him the chief God to protect the Sun Boat on Ra's nightly journey through the underworld being the one God who would not be hypnotized by the Chaos serpent who threatened to consume the sleeping Ra and his entourage. Despite falling out of favor at certain points in Egyptian history, he is still widely beloved as a god of great strength, personal power and sovereignty, making him an ideal God to aid in facing the shadow self.
Bergamot is a slightly peppery citrus fruit from a tree popular through the Mediterranean, though originally from Asia. It is used to ward infectious wounds and repel insects. It is excellent for restoring balance and stability when the mind and spirit are in disarray or spread too thin, helping to focus on facing a difficult task you may have been avoiding subconsciously. It relieves feelings of depression and tension, while inspiring strength, courage, and protection. In Voodoo it is also used to ward off evil and danger.
Black Pepper banishes negative energy and protects from evil. It also brings courage for when embarking on work you may fear and frees the mind of negative self-talk. It is commonly used in many places to ward against the evil eye as well as dispelling negative energy, ridding of unwanted people, and exorcisms.
Clove (coming from the French word for "nail") is also strongly protective and used for banishings, however also draws in success of intentions. It drives away hostility while also drawing in riches, and used for releasing and inspiration rituals alike. Growing from a tree in tropical areas, it was highly sought for both culinary and medicinal uses. Its antiseptic properties were used throughout the world for medicine especially to ward off infections of the mouth. It removes negativity while also drawing in healing.
